Hello, I’m Dayirai (pronounced Dye-Rye).
I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker and public health promoter who believes deeply in collective care, rest, and healing in relationship. My work is grounded in the belief that wellbeing is not something we do alone — it is something we practise together, within families, communities, and systems.
For over 15 years, I have supported individuals, couples, families, children, and communities through counselling, consultation, and wellness-focused work. At the heart of my practice is a simple but powerful vision: a world where people are supported to pause, feel, regulate, and heal together — with compassion, dignity, and cultural humility.
Journeys of Life Ubuntu Wellness Inc. was born from my own lived experiences. Losing my mother at the age of 16 and witnessing her death profoundly shaped how I understand grief, resilience, and the long arc of healing. Those early experiences changed me forever and continue to inform how I show up — with tenderness, honesty, and deep respect for the stories people carry.
Along my own journey, I came to understand that life offers lessons even in its most painful moments. I made a commitment to honour those lessons by walking alongside others as they make meaning of their own experiences — on their own terms, at their own pace.
Every person has a story worth honouring. In our work together, my role is not to “fix” you, but to listen deeply, bear witness, and support insight, healing, and change that feels true to you.
How I Work
My practice is Ubuntu-informed, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. This means I centre relationship, context, identity, and collective wellbeing — not just symptoms.
I offer a calm, compassionate, and grounded presence while also being honest and direct when needed. I am not afraid to sit with hard conversations, name patterns, or gently reflect when something may be getting in your way. At the same time, I hold care, curiosity, and respect as non-negotiables.
I draw from strengths-based, recovery-oriented, and solution-focused approaches, while remaining attentive to systems, power, culture, and lived experience. My goal is always to meet you where you are and to be helpful in ways that are specific, relevant, and sustainable.
My Commitment to You
Respect You will be met with empathy, dignity, and unconditional positive regard in a non-judgmental and affirming space.
Rediscover Together, we will reconnect with your strengths, wisdom, and sources of hope — even if they feel distant right now.
Recover Care is guided by evidence-informed practices delivered in ways that are culturally sensitive and responsive to your lived reality.
Renew Healing is not about becoming someone else — it is about returning to yourself, with greater clarity, balance, and wellbeing.
Restore We honour progress over perfection. Healing is a process, and gentleness with yourself is part of the work.
